It’s Quite Literally A Matter of Life and Death…..on Life Insurance

Mark A. Gajowski II, CFP®, CLU® CEBS®
Founder & CEO, Magii Group of Companies

So, on life insurance… I’ll be direct, as there is a point in my doing so.  When was the last time you had your life insurance reviewed??  Like any asset or investment, there was a reason you purchased the plan in the first place, or why you are keeping it now.  Oftentimes, as insurance is very much a ‘sold’ product (meaning, clients don’t tend to chase down insurance agents begging to sell them a policy), it gets forgotten in the day-to-day that we all call life.  The client stories I could share would be both disturbing and eye opening.  We have seen many a policy over or underfunded, incorrect beneficiaries or worse – some quirky combination policy that attempts to do some ‘magic’ with cash values being tied to some nebulous market indexing.  Geez…

The real reality is for most; life insurance is a needed product and one that is part of your financial planning by providing immediate liquidity and income to your loved ones or business partners. Getting there, however, can often be somewhat tricky as life insurance, the policies, underwriting, riders, expenses and just the jargon around which is confusing.  Like any asset, it should be periodically reviewed to make certain it is still enough (or perhaps it’s now too much), and that it is still operating properly.

To help our clients and partners with this, we have created a formal ‘review’ process we call our “MAGII CPR program”!
